Ingbirchworth Petanque Club
- Installation Date: August 2023
- Project Type: Petanque Terrains
Project Brief
Ingbirchworth Petanque Club, based in Ingbirchworth, Penistone, had established themselves as a local group after meeting at different locations whilst playing Petanque. The group were keen to build their own Petanque Terrains to allow them to play more frequently as a group.
David Hazeldine, a member of Ingbirchworth Petanque Club, initially contacted The Yorkshire Petanque Association who advised him to speak to Team Sport & Play Ltd who had built a portfolio of terrains in the Yorkshire area.
Project Outcome
The site identified was situated on a corner plot of an open playing field at the edge of the village. Access to the area was via a narrow stone track with an incline leading to the playing field. The timing of the project was, therefore, crucial to minimise damage and disruption to the path and field.
The Club decided on a terrains measuring 7m x 24m allowing for four pistes at a time. The completed project has been a huge success with the club having visits from, Yorkshire Petanque, Doncaster Petanque and Belgium Petanque all of which have commented on the terrains being one of, if not the best, they have played on!
